- In Aleppo, residents were still recovering yesterday from a Scud missile and shell attack on Sunday that damaged or completely destroyed a number of 5-storey residential blocks in Ansari. At least 29 people were killed, many of them women and children.Despite 2 days of searching, locals had given up hope of finding anyone else alive. There is video footage of the aftermath of the attack, HERE:Another Scud missile fell into the rural area of Jaid Bakara near Deir el-Zour yesterday, Tuesday, fortunately exploding harmlessly, but the size of the crater indicates their devastating impact when they do find a target, HERE:Assad’s forces have also carried out a massive arrest campaign over the last few days, taking into custody at least 100 people, mainly men and boys, in the Ashrafiya district of Aleppo city.Perhaps this reflects the increasing desperation of the Syrian Army which, despite its air superiority, is slowly but surely losing the battle for Syria’s largest city.On Saturday, Opposition fighters completely took over the neighbourhood of Sheikh Said, effectively giving them control of the main road to Aleppo International Airport and restricting the regime’s ability to resupply their troops remaining in the city. Since then the Assad forces have shelled the district unremittingly, as well as targeting other Opposition held strongholds.Currently, Opposition forces are targeting the Mohallab Barracks in the Sabee district and clashes are continuing across the city.To the north-east of Aleppo at Khanaser a Government force of 24 tanks and 3,000 troops did manage to retake the town from the Opposition, but at least 21 civilians were killed in the process, including women and children.Dozens of local people were also captured and used as human shields as the Army advanced. The same force is also moving onto Sfeera where Opposition fighters have been holding several regime military factories and installations under siege.Heavy bombardment by regime forces continues in Deraa, Deir el-Zour, Homs, Idlib, Hama, Latakia and the Sunni suburbs of Damascus. 48 people, including 5 children and 4 women, were killed in indiscriminate shelling around the capital yesterday, hitting the districts of Jobar and Qaboun as well as the suburban towns of Sbeneh, Moadamiyat al-Sham and Douma.Heavy fighting took place in the Damascus suburb of Qadam where Opposition fighters had taken control of a railway station and a police station a few days ago.Clashes also took place again yesterday around the Palestinian refugee camp of Yarmouk, prompting Mahmoud Abbas, president of the Palestinian Authority on the West Bank, to announce that he was sending a representative to Damascus to try and persuade all Palestinians in Syria to stay out of the fighting completely.Today, Wednesday, a double suicide car-bombing is reported in the city of Palmyra, north-east of Damascus, targeting the local military intelligence and security headquarters.Initial reports say that at least 12 Syrian troops have been killed in the blast and Opposition fighters attacked the buildings shortly afterwards. The city is famous for its 2,000 year old ruins which are listed as a UNESCO World Heritage site.An Opposition attack on the central prison in Raqqa city in the north-east resulted a number of regime soldiers killed and a further 13 defecting during the attack.Activists also report that a Syrian Air Force pilot defected near Hama with his fighter jet and attacked regime military posts in the Hama suburbs of Safsafiya and Salhab, leaving many regime soldiers dead and wounded.NOW LOOKS AS THOUGH CONVOY OF MISSILE LAUNCHERS FOR HEZBOLLAH WAS PARKED AT CHEMICAL PLANT WHEN ISRAELIS ATTACKED:
