EU EXTENDS SANCTIONS TO A FURTHER 18 INDIVIDUALS CONNECTED WITH SYRIA :
TIMELINE – 14th November 2011 13.35 GMT:
In an interview with the BBC this morning, Monday, King Abdullah of Jordan has called on President Assad to stand down.
“If I were in his shoes,” the King said, “I would step down and make sure whoever comes behind me has the ability to change the status quo that we’re seeing.”
Jordan, also like Syria a founder member of the Arab League, has been highly critical of the Assad regime in recent months and voted for its suspension.
