Torched Christmas tree sends people running from restaurant

Investigators say someone set restaurant's tree on fire

A torched Christmas tree sent people scrambling from a Denny's restaurant early Sunday and investigators say the fire was no accident.
The fire happened at the Denny's near 35 and Rittiman just after 3:30 a.m.
Investigators say it appears someone set the restaurant's Christmas tree ablaze.
Customers and employees hurried from the restaurant as thick smoke from the burning tree rolled through.
Fire crews say the smoke damage was extensive.
Now they are trying to determine who torched the Christmas tree.
