Libya: Gaddafi 'still in Sirte' - Telegraph  via
Officials admit they are not certain of Gaddafi’s location but they say the most reliable reports, culled from witnesses and informants, put the fugitive Libyan despot in one of three remaining strongholds of loyalist support.
One candidate is Sirte, on the Mediterranean coast. Other possibilities are the city of Bani Walid, south east of Tripoli, or the city of Sabha, which is deep in the southern desert.
Sirte has seen heavy fighting and rocket attacks from rebels attempting to take the city in recent days.
Interpol today issued an arrest warrant for Gaddafi, as well as his son, Saif al-Islam, and Abdullah al-Senussi, the dictator’s brother-in-law and intelligence chief, for crimes against humanity.
Interpol’s Secretary General, Ronald Noble, said: “Muammar Gaddafi is a fugitive whose country of nationality and the International Criminal Court want arrested and held accountable for the serious criminal charges that have been brought against him.”
