It looks like Joe Johnson will be coming to Brooklyn and Dwight Howard won't.
The Nets have agreed to a trade with the Atlanta Hawksthat will bring them Johnson, a six-time All-Star shooting guard, according to multiple reports.
The Hawks, according to sources, would get Anthony Morrow, Jordan Farmar, Jordan Williams, Johan Petro,DeShawn Stevenson (via sign-and-trade) and the Rockets' 2013 lottery-protected first-round pick.
As the Nets move from New Jersey to Brooklyn, they're trying to convince free agent point guard Deron Williamsto stay with the team. They reached an agreement with free agent forward Gerald Wallace on a four-year, $40 million deal Sunday. Free agents can't officially sign new contracts until July 11.
But it appears the Nets are giving up on the idea of obtaining Howard, who has asked the Orlando Magic for a trade to Brooklyn.
If the trade for Johnson goes through, the Nets will take on the remaining four years and $89.2 million left on a six-year deal that Johnson signed with the Hawks in 2010. They've offered Williams a five-year, $100 million contract extension and would not have the financial flexibility to add Howard.
