Gaddafi may leave Libya soon: Report
Libyan military sources say ruler Muammar Gaddafi may soon step down and leave the crisis-hit country as two planes reportedly have landed in the capital Tripoli to transfer him and his family to Venezuela.
According to Press TV, the Albawaba news website, citing top military sources in the Libyan army, reported on Wednesday that Gaddafi is likely to hand over power to Muhammad Alqamoda, the Minister of Justice in the Libyan regime.
The source said Libya's embattled leader is ready to step down and depart the country on the condition that NATO immediately ends its military mission in the North African country.
These recent developments are reportedly the result of a secret meeting between Gaddafi's envoys and the Transitional National Council, the supreme political body of the Libyan opposition, in southern Tunisia on Monday.
The planes may be ready to transfer Gaddafi, his family members and some members of his regime to Venezuela.
Some sources claim that Gaddafi is ill and requires urgent medical treatment outside Libya.
