Libya's General National Maritime Transportation Company, or GNMTC, could sell a portion of its fleet to unspecified Russian investors that include state-owned shipping corporationSovcomflot, sources told industry journal The Petroleum Economist.The Libyan oil tanker fleet could soon be sold to Russian investors, as speculation swirled Tuesday about a reported $300 million deal with the Gadhafi regime, which is under economic sanctions imposed by the United Nations, the United States and the European Union. A spokeswoman for Sovcomflot told The Moscow Times that she had no official information on her company's interest in Libyan oil tankers. "It's rumors, and we don't comment on rumors," she said.
