After three weeks of surrounding Sirte, the NTC are now locked into urban warfare as both sides exchange rocket, shell and small arms fire.
Concern continues for the tens of thousands of civilians still thought to be within the town.
While the NTC are able to make advances, strong resistance from a combination of Gaddafi’s troops and mercenaries and armed loyalists is making it difficult to hold any gains for any length of time.
