LIBYA'S new government last night agreed to co-operate with Scots authorities in finding new suspects for the Lockerbie bombing.

Interim justice minister Mohammed al-Alagi earlier insisted he considered the case closed.
But yesterday he said: "We are ready to co-operate if more people were asked to be investigated in the Lockerbie case."

Libyan Abdelbaset al-Megrahi was convicted of the bombing in 2001.

The cancer victim was freed by Justice Secretary Kenny MacAskill on compassionate grounds in 2009 with apparently weeks to live — but is still alive.

Scots prosecutors have asked Libya's National Transitional Council if they can see papers that may implicate others.
