#Sabha #baniwalid Sabha Airport Captured, Fighting in Bani Walid

Update: Fighting in Bani Walid  -Sabha Airport Captured - K&E Citizen Journalism

While battles are still raging in Bani Walid, Sirte and Sabha, the Libyan National Transitional Gouvernment has run into some hick ups on what shape the eventual council should take.  In fact no one knows when the liberation of Libya will be complete.  The liberation is to kick-start a new era in Libya and elections.  Meanwhile  infighting continues and there are conflicting reports as to the battle raging in the three Gaddafi strongholds.  The NTC reports that battles are still raging at Bani Walid and Sirte, while unconfirmed reports claim that the airport at Sabha has been seized.  Sabha is the gate to the route into Niger and the only escape route for pro-Gaddafi forces.

Pro-Gaddafi forces have been putting up stiff resistance in Sirte and some reports indicate that conditions in Sirte are desperate.  According to some reports there is no water, electricity or phone service.   In Bani Walid there is concern that pro-Gaddafi forces are attempting to destroy the city before it is captured.

NTC revolutionary forces are disorganized, lack training and have taken heavy losses.  One witness said that infantrymen were running everywhere.

"There is a lack of organisation so far. Infantrymen are running in all directions," Zakaria Tuham, a senior revolutionary fighter in Tripoli said.

With the NTC infighting on what shape the Libyan government should take, stiff resistance by Gaddafi loyalists and general disorganization of Rebel forces, it is clear that the road to peace and good government will be a long one.  The mistakes of Iraq may very well be repeated in Libya.  While the ground and air war may have been won, the battle to establish good governance and essential services appears to be much more difficult.
