In the fighting that errupted in the Abu Salim area of Tripoli yesterday, 9 people were seriously wounded and 2 Gaddafi loyalists and 1 NTC fighter killed.
A number of people were also reported injured by “friendly fire” as the estimated 200 NTC fighters from 8 different brigades rushed to the area and launched a ferocious salvo of small arms and machine gun fire at any Gaddafi supporter pointing a gun in their direction.
Injury by so – called “friendly fire” is an increasing problem in Libya as “weekend fighters” eager to say they have taken part in the battle for Libya’s freedom flood to the frontlines. ...more..
