On Sunday afternoon in the main square of Benghazi, where the revolution began, Mustafa Abdel Jalil, declared an end to hostilities and the liberation of a free Libya.
To ecstatic crowds, he outlined Libya’s future saying that saying that Sharia law would be the basis of legislation, and that existing laws that contradict the teachings of Islam would be declared null and void.
The alignment with the teachings of the Koran would see new banks that had limits on the interest they could charge on loans and allowing men to take as many as four wives if the wished and could support them.
(EDITOR: Personally, I think then that women should be allowed to have up to four husbands if there is going to be equality – but at the end of the day this is a matter for Libyans to decide.)
