After 2 days of partial truce which allowed some of the remaining residents of Sirte to flee to safety, fierce exchanges of fire resumed yesterday, Monday, between the 2 sides engaged in the struggle for control of the town.
NTC forces completed their takeover of the southern district of Sirte known as Bouhadi or Qasr Abu Hadi, believed to be the area where Gaddafi was born in a Berber tent in 1942. Clearly a Gaddafi stronghold, all the residents had fled as the Opposition advanced.
