Libya fighters continue battle against pro-Gaddafi resistance in Sirte
Anti-Gaddafi forces bombard a small area in the centre of Sirte where pockets of resistance are still holding out.
The National Transitional Council militia have besieged the city of Sirte for weeks, only slowly tightening their grip.
Forces loyal to Gaddafi now only occupy an area of about one square mile.
But the government fighters said although the pocket of resistance was very small, they were being held back by snipers.
The failure to seize the final Gaddafi bastions swiftly has also held up attempts by Libya's new leaders to try to build a democratic government, a process they say will begin only after Sirte is captured.
