Former Libyan dictator Muammar Gaddafi was killedThursday in his hometown of Sirte, after National Transitional Council (NTC) forces captured the town. He was apparently found hiding in a concrete drainage pipe.
According to the BBC, Gaddafi was reportedly killed by Mohammed al-Bibi, a young man in his 20s, who said that Gaddafi said simply "don't shoot" before the man opened fire.
Gaddafi was apparently found with a golden pistol, which was subsequently brandished by the revolutionary fighters in celebration.
Gaddafi was apparently fond of golden weapons. Rebel fighters also found a gold-plated machine gun when they looted his palace in Tripoli in August.
