Scars of war are toughest challenge for new Libyan PM, Abdulrahim el-Keib

THE former professor who emerged last week as the surprise choice for Libyan Prime Minister says his toughest challenge will be the future of thousands of young men who have been traumatised by a war that took them within days from classrooms and jobs to the frontline.
"These kids saw their brothers and friends killed," said Abdulrahim el-Keib, an electrical engineer. He was elected by the national transitional council, whose executive officers will remain Libya's de facto government until he names his cabinet in a fortnight.
