  NTC VIEWS NIGER’S OFFER OF ASYLUM TO SAADI GADDAFI AS “HOSTILE”:

  Abdel Hafiz Ghoga also said yesterday, Monday, that the NTC regarded Niger’s decision to grant Saadi Gaddafi aylum as “hostile” and that the Saharan country should reconsider.

  

  Saadi Gaddafi - Niger Ignoring Interpol Arrest Warrant

  “Niger should not become an asylum for criminals. We ask Niger to review this unjustified decision, he said.  “If Niger will harbour criminals wanted by the law, the hostile and unjustified decision will have an impact on our relations”.

  Niger’s President, Mahamadou Issoufou, confirmed last Friday during a visit to South Africa that he had granted Saadi Gaddafi asylum in his country “for humanitarian reasons”.

  Interpol has issued a “red notice”, an interim arrest warrant, for Gaddafi’s son but Niger, which is a signatory to the Interpol accords, is choosing to ignore the request for its execution.

  In Tripoli, another reversal of the strictures of the Gaddafi era was marked yesterday on the top floor of the former royal palace where an “un-banning” ceremony took place of all the books proscribed during Moammar  Gadddafi’s 42 years
