Supreme Commission for Elections "Elections will be held on time"
Abdul Mo'ez Ibrahim head of the Supreme Commission for Elections
Ali Hasan, editor of the Middle East News Agency said that the president of the Supreme Commission for Elections assured him that People's Assembly elections will be held on scheduled date of 28 November.
In a statement to the Qatari satellite channel "Al-Jazeera", Hasan quoted Abdul Mo'ez Ibrahim, head of SCE as saying that "procedures are in full swing in order to hold the elections on scheduled time".
The resignation of the government of Prime Minister Essam Sharaf and the acts of violence against protesters and opponents of the ruling military junta in Tahrir Square had raised doubts regarding the possibility of holding parliamentary elections on time.
