On #seatuesday , curated by +Julia Anna Gospodarou , I'm sharing a picture of some storm surf breaking off a point of lava on west Maui. This is near Kapalua, just around the corner from Honolua Bay, and it takes a pretty specific swell to generate waves like this since it's normally sheltered by two other islands. For perspective, check out the (crazy) guy with the camera on the rocks. +Sea Tuesday

Burning-Man Curious? (my G+ album below of Burning Man photos)
I hear a bunch of people are getting their confirmations for Burning Man. I know+Thomas Hawk just got his, so this is getting exciting... I know there are a TON of Pluskins going this year (many newbies!)... we've talked about setting up an unofficial camp... nothing firm yet. I'm too busy to organize one, but I'm more than happy to have a G+ PhotoWalk while there. It's never to early to plan...
Either way, Burning Man is a great place to let your photography and creativity run wild...

Desert Sunflowers (Gernaea canescens), March 4, 2008
The Spring wildflower season is coming in Southern California. In Anza Borrego State Park they arrive as early as late February, and various species bloom into April as the bloom progresses up the adjacent mountains.
This is a field towards the northeast end of the town of Borrego Springs. When I visited last year, the field had been almost completely taken over by invasive Sahara mustard, but volunteers were pulling it up, plant by plant.
