Open letter signed by opposition leaders

Leader of the Scottish Liberal Democrats, Willie Rennie MSP has today signed a cross party open letter which puts further pressure on the First Minister to come clean on his relationship with the Murdoch empire.

The letter is also signed by the leaders of the Scottish Labour party and Scottish Conservative party.

Commenting on the letter, Willie Rennie said:

"Alex Salmond may run but he can't hide. His absence from Parliament and refusal to subject himself to serious questions reinforces our concerns over his relationship to Rupert Murdoch.

“In return for political support from the Sun Alex Salmond has been prepared to lobby for them and defend them on phone hacking.

"A parliamentary statement is needed - if it's good enough for Tory Jeremy Hunt it should be good enough
