My grandfather helped build the original , a lot of lives were lost during the poring of the concrete :(

Its already finished. Drove across it aeveral times. It kinda sucks because no you cant see the dam at all when you go over. But its waaaay better than driving across the dam like i used to have too.

Wasn't this finished a long time ago? ...matter of fact I think I drove on it last time I went to vegas...it is a lot bigger in person
Spilly Dave10:33 AM
You can walk alongside it and see the dam like never before....so beautiful and nice walk

+Rachel Farina that's sort of what I was getting at, this photo was taken before it was finished, about 2 years ago. You can see the finished version anywhere on the web........this person should have used the finished picture
Stevie Magana10:54 AM
They have been working on it for ever I went to Vegas about 4 years ago and went across the dam saw them working on the bride.. The dam is still cooler
Adam Nichols11:04 AM
WOW that's cool, something else for Michael Bay to Blow up in the next Transformers movie...
Jade Martin11:11 AM
What a sight from the top of the bridge... Wish it was closer so I could drive over it.
Andre Bradshaw11:16 AM
This bridge is awesome. Much better than having to crawl across the damn dam.
Jordan Murray11:23 AM
I might make it down there to see this soon. Or maybe just wait til the next Transformers movie comes out. I'm sure they will have it on there.
Desmond Battiste11:33 AM
I enjoyed driving on the dam. I was able to stop and take photos. I'm sure there will be a fee to drive on the dam and also take the bridge.
Richard Johnson11:34 AM
Nice view and I think I like the bridge with all of the cables before it was finished better than afterward. I need to go there and search for your vantage point, above the bridge like that.
Michael Whelan11:44 AM
The Bridge is open now. It has been operational for some time. This photograph is showing the Bridge in construction phase, which is really only missing the roadway. The tricky stuff is complete in this photograph.

A cathedral for modern America. Over 100 men died building it. That is a good number for any cathedral.

This is not the Hoover Dam but Mike O'Callaghan Pat Tillman Bridge & was completed in 2010. It's an incredible piece of architecture that I, as a local, got to admire the different stages of its construction and appreciate the smooth traffic flow it allows for those who just want to pass the NV-AZ border without disturbing the visitors at the Hoover Dam. A site worth visiting!

Now as a tourist when you walk on the dam your view of the valley and beyond is obstructed by the bridge, but that is small price to pay to save the dam from all the heavy traffic,I wounder where they going hold the 4th july fire work .any one knows.?
Edward Van Meter11:58 AM
picture is a year old....bridge has been open for some time now. Would like to see something more current.
