tarry Night Pro (the same view of the planets can be obtained using any other astronomy program, e.g. Stellarium. Also, it should be noted, that planetary convergence only happens every 2,737 years, and its different for at least 2 more cycles running the program forward… and doesn’t happen again for over 28,000 YEARS if you run that program backwards in time…

What's so interesting to me is that Spica is nearly the same magnitude of Saturn on that day, and is so close by to the other three planets as well. So it will actually look like four bright objects lined up, not just three. But they won't line up one after the other right over the tips of the pyramids. A look at the line of the ecliptic then demonstrates that impossibility."

Note: "Mercury, Saturn and Venus will indeed be nicely aligned on 12/3/2012. However, at that time of year, and given that Giza is still in the Northern Hemisphere, there is a problem with the pyramids graphic. The ecliptic is quite steeply inclined to the horizon in later fall, so the planets, though lined up, will appear more like the graphic I have listed here (ignore the time, as it still shows my local time, but I did adjust for latitute/longitude and date).
