“With regards to women’s health care, look, I’m the guy who was able to get health care for all of the women and men in my state,” Romney said. Contrasting his plan with the Obama administration’s national health care plan, Romney said, “We actually did something and did it without cutting Medicare and without raising taxes.”
Again charging the president with cutting Medicare to fund his own health reform, Romney said, “I’m very proud of what we did and the fact that we helped women and men and children in our state, and we did it without cutting Medicare, which obviously affects a lot of women.”
The Romney campaign’s mentions of Romney’s health care reform during his time as governor have been few and far between — while the president’s campaign has been happy to note that Romney’s plan was a blueprint for the Affordable Care Act that Romney criticizes.
