In Aleppo province, Opposition fighters are today attacking Brigade 555 south of Aleppo city near Khan Touman and yesterday, nearer the city at the predominately Kurdish town of Arfin, the FSA overran the base of the 135th Brigade. With the Assad regime deliberately destroying bakeries in Opposition held areas and stretched supply lines, even basic staple foods such as bread are in short supply. Armed convoys of flour trucks now make a perilous journey from Turkey, always in danger of being hijacked for their precious cargo.
Activists are reporting this afternoon, Saturday, the targeting by the Assad regime of another bakery in Halifya in central Hama, a town captured by Opposition fighters last week. Casualties are unclear but initial reports speak of “dozens of dead and injured”.
