The Washington Nationals have had a busy day already locking up their stud first baseman Adam LaRoche and now they are looking to trade outfielder Michael Morse.
According to Ken Rosenthal from FOX Sports, the Nationals have talked about Morse to five to six teams. He is set to make $7 million in 2013. He will be a free agent after this season.
Morse, who also plays first base, becomes expendable with LaRoche now signed, and general manager Mike Rizzo has said that he will not trade Morse unless he can get some impact players in return.
Rizzo says he will not force a deal that does not present itself as Morse is an attractive middle of the order hitter, and they would also be fine with keeping him for the season. He says as far as impact players go, they could be in the minors or majors as long as they are worth the price.
