- Live Twitter Mock Draft- Falcon's Selections Through Round 4 http://wp.me/p35Xq3-bbFollowed by LatinoTimes SportsWe are complete four rounds on the 365SportsReport.com Live Twitter NFL Mock Draft. As the acting general manager of the Atlanta Falcons, I had five picks in the first four rounds. One pick in the fourth round was a compensatory pick.
Round 1, Pick 30- CB Jamar Taylor, Boise State
The Falcons are in desperate need of corner help with the lose of Brent grimes and Dunta Robinson in free agency. The team also lost Chris Owens who added good depth to the group. Taylor is an extremely athletic prospect who has good press man skills and will challenge receivers He could start immediately. Biggest knock on Taylor is that he did not play against elite competition and he may struggle with the learning curve.Round 2, Pick 60- DE Damontre Moore, Texas A&M
This was a need/value pick. The Falcons signed Osi Umeniyora and have some good depth, but they need a young pass rusher. Moore’s stock has fallen farther than anyone in this draft, but the Falcons get good value here. He can be a situational pass rusher and ease himself into a starting role.Round 3, Pick 92- OL David Quessenberry, San Jose State
The team cut Tyson Clabo and Todd McClure retired leaving big holes along the depth of the offensive line. Quessenberry came on strong with a great Senior Bowl and Combine and showed he has the versatility to play almost every position on the OL. That type of value is hard to find and the Falcons could have a potential starter at right tackle or guard when it is all said and done.Round 4, Pick 127- OLB Devonte Holloman, South Carolina
Falcon’s line backing core is not bad at the starter positions but it is the depth that scares me. If Sean Witherspoon or Akeem Dent go down, the team is in for a rough time. Holloman is one of the best athletes at his position and the Falcons love tough, athletic linebackers who can play the run and pass. He is not the biggest but he is a physical presence as a tackler. Should add great depth and special teams play.
