The rebels say they want to close off supply routes from the south and hope to link up with rebel elements in the town of Zawiyha, scene of some of the worst attacks on civilians by pro-Gaddafi forces in the February uprising.Women’s militia groups are being trained to use weapons and the whole area is being flooded with government-supplied guns. But in a rare organised trip to Libya's Nefusa mountain range, about 50 miles south of Tripoli, it is clear that the government and its militia are preparing to defend Gharyan
