Map of Zintan Yefran  by the ocean?

Looking at a closeup of Zintan this morning on google maps noticed what a strateic location that town was, and how the freedome fighters recent control of the Zintan city was definately worth celebrating. Actually it appears that maybe 1000's of years ago that the ocean actually came right up the the base of the strategic military location.  Just to see what it looked like I photoshoped some water in the picture below...

You can probably see Tripoli from these locations, even the oceans maybe even be viewable from these locations, so as a strategic location to see the lay of the land, it just shows how important  the line of cities are from Zintan, to Yefran, to Garyan as it appears to be the old coastline of Africa, amd every city north of that is just a flat plane that in which the coastline  fighting has to be much more chanllenging.

As you look at Bir Alghanam you can see it is much less defendable

Also a different perspective would come from sitting in Tripoli looking south toward the Nafousa, Nafusa mountains and if you place freedom fighter flags over each of the towns its starting to loo fairly intimidating if you live there

Then if you remember the freedome fighters are also coming from the west, almost in Zlitan you see how very importabnt Az-Zawyah is (just east of Tripoli). I guess eventually this will all work out for all the kindred Libyan peoples, and for there sake, I hope it is soon

If you find this type of analysis please retweet. I love to study maps and would be glad to produce these all the time as things break out in Libya, just retweet it, and if I see that the pageviews are good I'll create more... Thanks and my prayers go out to all people who are in risk right now.
