Zlitan's frontline remains static despite fierce fighting. Opposition forces are claiming victory on several fronts in the battle for Libya. In contrast, Zlitan, a town located just east of Tripoli, has become a static frontline. Ammunition supply lines have slowed down and there is no end in sight to the fighting. Several explosions rocked Tripoli after midnight onSunday.Libyan state television said NATO air strikes had hit civilian and military targets in Tripoli. Long series of explosions could be heard starting around 2 am local time, producing giant plumes of smoke, Reuters reported. Planes could be heard overhead and flames could be seen in the distance.
