Following their capture of Sabha on Wednesday, NTC fighters quickly overran the southern Libyan oasis towns of Hun, Wadden and Sokna yesterday.
Hun and Wadden particularly have been the subject of many NATO airstrikes over the last few weeks as command and control centres and missile emplacements were destroyed.

NTC forces are also believed to have taken Ubari, 200 kilometres to the west of Sabha.
Some pockets of resistance and sniper fire continues in Sabha, home to Gaddafis own tribe, the Qadhadfa, but these are not thought to be a significant problem.
Apart from crossing open desert, the NTC now controls all the main escape routes by road to Libya’s southern borders, though officials admit that some more senior Gaddafi regime figures may have fled from Sabha just before it fell into the hands of the NTC fighters.
