TIMELINE – 27th September 2011 UPDATED 11.02 GMT:
NTC forces moved forward significantly on Monday beyond the gateway and roundabout on the eastern side of Sirte.

Opposition forces also claim to have linked the eastern front with one from the south, where they now control Sirte airport.
