I'm working on a film project with some friends that will document the backcountry pilots of the Tahoe area. I went on a exploratory flight last week with one of the best pilots in the group, and we got to check out some of the typical landscape photographers' haunts on the East Side of the Sierra, including a few passes over the South Tufa on the shore of Mono Lake. Pretty neat to see the Tufa from this unique perspective! The project is on the back burner over the winter, but when it picks back up in the spring look for more info and I'll hopefully be sharing some great footage!

My previous post was of a lightning strike during a storm that I was lucky enough to witness while in Namibia. I thought some of you might be interested to see what things looked like just one hour earlier. This photo is a wider angle than the lightning photo but was taken from exactly the same location. The sun disappears and the storms roll in fast in this part of the world!
