In Libya, the transitional authorities have thus far failed to take measures to ensure the representation of women in political bodies: the draft constitutional charter adopted in August 2011 contains no provision prohibiting discrimination against women ; the electoral law adopted in january 2012 by the NTC contains no quota for women's representataion.
