This is the problem with all countries run by dictatorship. Some people benefit and they protect the dictator. It is why Egypt is still so disturbed. It is why Libya is still struggling, Sudan, Somalia. To bring stability and economic prosperity to the Middle East and Africa is going to take a lot of work.

I ask, if I may, where are the socialists, social-democrats, progressives and other independent democrats fighting for a secular state (with equality, civil liberties, religious freedom, cultural diversity, as some of its fundamental guarantees) in this conflict between Military Dictatorship and Muslim Fundamentalism ? Is (Are) the Arab People(s) eternally comdemned to choose one of these two evils...
