+Joshua Sutton mandating that no more than 3 of the top 10 can be placed in the same grouping. Perhaps take the top 4, place them in separate groups and then do the draw. If by the latter rounds of the draw a 4th team gets picked, it's put aside and another team drawn.Or like I said, just say shit happens and we get to watch the sharks eat the sharks.

I'm not exactly sure of how UEFA does the draw for Champions League, but I know that they have certain teams in "Pot A, B, C, etc" and that is somewhat based on their previous performances/their domestic league's strength. Of course, the only thing Euros could use is the previous performance benchmark I guess. I wouldn't necessarily throw a fit if they did something similar, but I will say that by mandating your "top" teams be in separate groups, you practically pre-determine who some of the ones who will advance out of group stages will be. It takes away some of the likelihood for Cinderella stories.
