Gallup: Obama's September polling numbers best month ‘in over a year’

Gallup: Obama's September polling numbers best month ‘in over a year’

A new Gallup poll released today shows thatPresident Barack Obama is having one of the “best months in more than year”.
“More generally, September is turning out to be one of Obama's best months in over a year: he is on track to average roughly 49 percent job approval this month, up from 45 percent in August and 41 percent in September 2011.”
President Obama is now receiving increased support from registered voters in Gallup’s Daily tracking of presidential election preferences. Tracking numbers covering September 19-25, 2012 show:
  • Barack Obama 50 percent
  • Mitt Romney 44 percent
President Obama’s “job approval” rating currently stands at “51 percent”
“Obama’s job approval rating has been at 50 percent or higher in each of the last four Gallup Daily tracking figures, including a 51 percent rating in the latest three-day rolling average, from September 23-25, 2012.”
This nearly matches the level of approval for Obama that Gallup found at the end of the Democratic National Convention earlier this month. His approval then dipped into the 40’s by mid-September before rebounding to 51 percent late last week. And just as Obama’s “job approval” rating jumped after the DNC, the same is seen with “voter support” for Obama, which also dipped in mid-September then rose over the last week.
