Gravis Poll: Obama 48, Romney 45
The presidential contest in Pa. is a 3 point race according to a poll from Gravis Marketing. Barack Obama leads Mitt Romney 48 percent to 45.
The firm conducted an automated survey of 887 likely Pennsylvania voters on October 21. The margin of error for the survey is plus or minus 3.3 percent. 45 percent of respondents identified as Democrats and 37 percent as Republicans.
Obama leads among women by 8 points, 51 percent to 43. Romney leads among men (49 percent to 45) and independents (41 percent to 39).
Voters took a negative view of Obama’s job performance, 48 percent to 44.
This is the first Pa. poll we’ve seen from Gravis this cycle. Nate Silver of The New York Times reports that its results have a Republican lean.
The Real Clear Politics average of Pa. polls (which includes the Gravis numbers) shows Obama ahead by 4.8 points, 50 percent to 45.2 percent for Romney.
