Remember What You Know
Some key points to remember as we wait for the OIG DOJ report to drop about the DOJ's Hillary Clinton Email investigation:
Sessions ONLY recused himself from the Russia related investigation.
Rod Rosenstein is not 'running the entire DOJ' no matter how many TV talking heads claim this to you.
RR is in charge of RUSSIA RELATED INVESTIGATIONS ONLY.
And thanks to Democrats strident insistence, the Hillary Clinton email investigation is NOT RUSSIA RELATED.
The Hillary Clinton Email investigation is centered on 'When the FBI looked into Clinton exposing classified intelligence by having an illegal homebrew server, did they follow proper DOJ procedures and protocol?'
Although claims are advanced that illegal homebrew server was 'hacked by the Russians' and the Russians were going around shopping the 33,000 emails she deleted off of that server [even though they were under subpoena] there has never been any EVIDENCE that actually happened.
And DOJ Inspector General Michael Horowitz's review is limited to what THE FBI'S & DOJ'S OWN PERSONNEL DID in handling this email investigation.
Let's just go over SOME of the irregularities we know about thus far:
1. Clinton's interview with the FBI
Not only was this interview not recorded, as usual there's no indication Hillary was put under oath. A key aide who was a MATERIAL WITNESS in this email investigation was ALLOWED BY THE FBI to sit in on this interview as Clinton's lawyer.
CHERYL MILLS, a top HRC aide, who was with her at the St. Dept, and who was interviewed about this matter, lied when said she did not know HRC was using a private server outside the gov't security/encryption system.
So the decision to let Mills sit in on Clinton's interview as her lawyer is a direct violation of protocol. The conflict of interest is so blatant it's still stunning this was allowed.
2. President Barack Obama was not only AWARE Hillary Clinton was using an illegal private server & storing classified info on it, he HIMSELF *exchanged emails with her* at that private address.
Realizing how an honest investigation was going to expose Obama's knowledge & participation in breaking the law, Peter Strzok related in a text message how his boss Bill Priestap changed a passage in Comey's letter from 'the President' to 'a high ranking gov't official'.
3. The Clinton/Lynch tarmac meeting.
I'm going out on a limb here and positing it's NOT usual FBI procedure or protocol for the then-Attorney General to be having a hush-hush private meeting the husband of a Presidential candidate her department is investigating.
Remember, NOBODY was supposed to know this meeting took place. It only leaked because a member of the local security detail alerted a local reporter.
Once the news was out, Lynch proffered the comical explanation the meeting was 'accidental' & they discussed grandkids.
Subsequent documents released related to this matter a few months back revealed FBI agents & DOJ people furiously trying to find out who leaked the meeting so they could f**k up the whistle blower.
Everywhere you look in this email investigation preferential treatment is found.
4. Comey writes a letter exonerating Hillary even before she was interviewed.
5. The Weiner/Abedin Laptop
After the DOJ/FBI worked so hard to let Clinton skate & close the investigation, NY LEO's caught Anthony Weiner sexting a 15 year old girl via a laptop that he shared with his wife, Hillary's top aide, Huma Abedin.
When NYPD examines the laptop as part of their sex crimes investigation, they stumble over THOUSANDS of supposedly missing HRC emails stored on the laptop.
Remember this all went down: Clinton & her people didn't DISCLOSE the existence of the private homebrew server & the fact she was hiding hundreds of thousands of emails from the gov't system & oversight.
They were CAUGHT when Trey Gowdy's Benghazi committee found it.
After the existence of the private server was revealed, this actually happened: Hillary and her aides were ALLOWED to go through the server & pick and choose THEMSELVES which emails/documents were gov't work related and which were not.
THEY got to pick what was handed over.
After Hillary and her aides handed over the emails THEY picked out, the rest were destroyed, erased from the server & then Hillary had BleachBit used and 13 EC devices were destroyed with a hammer.
I'm pretty sure there's something in the DOJ/FBI rules & protocols concerning the PRESERVATION OF MATERIAL EVIDENCE, and golly gee whiz, this looks like destruction of material evidence to me, but hey I'm not an FBI agent so what do I know?
So getting back to Weiner's laptop and the NYPD staring in stunned amazement at what they found on it.
See, Huma had a 'back door' insurance policy. She was collecting hundreds of thousands of emails detailing EVERYTHING they were doing for years.
I'm pretty sure that collection of emails on Huma/Weiner's laptop was a 'Greatest Hits' Collection.
It's all there. The pay for play, the hiding the ball on Benghazi, the use of the Clinton Foundation as a huge bribery slush fund, etc.
And among those emails, I suspect the NYPD found emails DETAILING A PLOT to launch a political dirty trick against the other Presidential campaign. They'd launch the smear Trump was owned by the Russians, then use their St. Dept/Intel/Media assets to push it.
The NYPD handed the laptop over to the FBI.
And then watched the FBI sit on it and not breathe a word about it.
For weeks.
As the election drew nearer.
See, here's what subsequent document releases revealed: Andrew McCabe was SITTING on the laptop, not telling anybody about it. Well that's the official version.
There are two scenarios here:
a) Comey knew, but told McCabe 'give me deniability: DON'T TELL ME OFFICIALLY'
b) Comey actually was in the dark all along about the laptop because McCabe was hiding it from him.
Whichever THEORY is correct, the result was the same. The FBI was sitting on the laptop & taking no action on it as the election got closer and closer.
It took some pointed public comments from Rudy Guilani and Erik Prince about the NYPD *threatening to go public itself if the FBI didn't act* for Comey to suddenly reverse himself & announce due to 'new evidence' he was reopening the Clinton email investigation.
Of course the Democrats & the HRC campaign were FURIOUS at Comey & insisted the decision to reopen the email investigation was POLITICALLY CALCULATED TO CAUSE HILLARY TO LOSE THE ELECTION.
They DEMANDED an investigation by the DOJ's Inspector General.
They got it.
And so here we are, over a year and 5 months later after Horowitz announced the beginning of his review of the FBI's handling of the HRC Email investigation, waiting for his final report to drop.
Democrats are going to wish they'd NEVER demanded this.
Oh there was blatant politicization of JUST ABOUT EVERY SINGLE ONE of the FBI's decisions in this HRC email case, but the *evidence* shows those decisions weren't politically motivated to HURT Clinton but instead to HELP her.
We have security & classification protocols & rules in our gov't for a reason.
People have been tossed ass-first into prison cells for exposing classified information in a manner of a far lesser magnitude than Hillary & her cronies did in this case.
The DOJ/FBI people involved in running this thought Hillary was going to win, and they bent over backwards to make sure she skated away from the blatant crimes she committed.
Horowitz's report is going to HAMMER them for this.
At the end of this, Horowitz is going to make his recommendations to Sessions and Rosenstein.
He will make
1) criminal referrals for indictments
2) proposals to change policy & procedures to ensure this never happens again.
Sessions is running the DOJ, not Rosenstein. Rosenstein is in charge of only those investigations where Sessions has recused himself.
A lot of people are telling you endlessly that Rosenstein is dirty, a rat, a traitor, etc.
Ever notice I'm *not* one of those people?
Because to believe that, you have to believe that for some strange reason, Sessions & Trump won't fire some guy they KNOW is a dirty rat.
Look at Trump. You think he'd be SCARED to fire RR if he knew RR was dirty?
Trump LOVES chaos. He THRIVES on controversy.
In what POSSIBLE scenario are both Trump & Sessions deluded/tricked/hypnotized into not firing RR if they know he's dirty as mud covered rat?
RR has had the toughest, most thankless job in the gov't the last year and a half. He has to protect investigations building criminal cases against some of the most POWERFUL people in the US, & shield his boss Sessions from any appearance of conflict of interest at the SAME TIME.
Trump and Sessions play this game where Trump talks about how UNHAPPY he is he can't get the DOJ to do anything he wants! Those guys are too independent! He has no idea what they are doing over there! They never listen to him! Disgraceful!
Watch how he STEPS THIS UP once the OIG reports drop, both the HRC email report and the Trump/Russia Spying report. And plenty of people get indicted & the DNC Media FREAKS OUT.
Sessions being his attack dog? RR taking marching orders from Trump?
NOT TO HEAR TRUMP TELL IT.
Thread that lays out how NYPD ended up having to *force* the FBI's hand on the Weiner laptop:
Stealth Jeff added,
ɭ๏ɭค💋@DropTha_Mic25
I'd like to give a shout out to Dpty Asst Atty General, NSD, George Toscas. He is one to press Comey on Weiner laptop. He is one who called #Comey Dir. of Federal "Matters." When McCabe & crew sat on FBINY news about emails for 3 weeks, Toscas is reason Congress was alerted.
I don't see if happening like that. I tend to think there will be a lot of hand slapping for procedural errors.
Again there will be 2 different standards of justice. Words like "intent" will make a comeback.
Hope I am wrong.
Well, let me ask:
MCCabe, all of this has already been done yet, AG Sessions has not sought indictments.
Plus, AG Sessions is in direct Obstruction of Congressional Oversight.
With this in mind, it does make one question how AG Sessions will ever pursue equal justice & ROL.
