* Libyan leader Muammar Gaddafi said on Saturday he was ready for a ceasefire and negotiations provided NATO "stop its planes", but he refused to give up power. NATO said air strikes would go on as long as Libyan civilians were being threatened.
NATO warplanes hit three targets close to the television building in Tripoli in what state media said was an attempt to kill Gaddafi.
* NATO conducted 156 sorties on Friday, 55 of them intended as strike missions - to identify and engage targets but which do not always involve the use of munitions.
It said targets included:
-- One command and control building and one self-propelled artillery piece near Tripoli;
-- Thirteen ammunition storages and one armoured personnel carrier near Zintan;
