Libyan rebels say NATO air strikes have destroyed at least two helicopters near the town of Zintan, as government forces carried those choppers on trucks.
A rebel spokesman says the trucks were heading towards Tiji -- a small town near Libya's border with Tunisia. Satellite photographs show what appears to be a military base on the outskirts of that town. The main route from Tripoli to Tiji passes near Zintan, where Gaddafi forces have been bombarding rebels controlling the town.
Meanwhile, fighting between Gaddafi's troops and rebels continues to rage on the border with Tunisia. The rebels have been resisting government forces for 10 weeks, and have so far managed to hold the crossing point.
