LIVE NOW - A meeting between Nato and Russia will be held in Sochi, with Libya being a predominant item

A meeting between Nato and Russia will be held in Sochi, with Libya being a predominant item on the agenda on July 4 2011, the Bulgarian National Television (BNT) reported. Also on the agenda will be the Nato missile shield across Europe. The Russian and Nato delegations will include, respectively, Russian president Dmitry Medvedev and Nato Secretary General Anders Fogh Rasmussen, the report said. Russia is a critic of Nato's campaign in Libya, saying that the Alliance have lost their initial objective which was to protect civilians, but are now instead focused on forcing the current government out of power. Russia believes that the only realistic and effective way to solve the problem in the country is for everyone to declare an effective ceasefire immediately, the BBC reported. The meeting will also focus on European missile defense and the control over conventional armaments in Europe.
