When Putin looks at Libya, he sees the graphic, regressive consequences of NATO's "liberation" through "humanitarian bombing"; a fragmented country controlled by al-Qaeda-linked militias; backward Cyrenaica splitting from more developed Tripolitania; and a relative of the last king brought in to rule the new "emirate" - to the delight of those model democrats of the House of Saud.
This raised a question for me.
What are you supposed to do when the purported enemy of your country has a far better grasp on reality then the citizenry of your country, due to the malfeasance of a corporately controlled media and the spin masters in your own psychological operations department?
Do you go with reality? (I happen to totally agree with the facts as detailed above, they match observations better than the story. Gotta love the scientific method.)
Or do you play it safe and not rock the boat? (As intellectually distasteful as that would be.)
