Yesterday 5:20 PM - PublicBeautiful sight!
Carl Stovell originally shared this post:
The Lake of Menteith or "Loch Innis MoCholmaig" in Scottish Gaelic. It is sometimes thought to be the only "Lake" in Scotland. The name is said to be an old mispelling of "laich" which means "low place". The Priory on the largest island, Inchmahome, was refuge for Mary, Queen of Scots in 1547. The water sometimes freezes over completely and is the venue for a Curling "Grand Match".
When I uploaded this originally in a different corner of the interweb, I did it upside down and at first glance you wouldn't know, other than the ripples being in the sky.

Yesterday 5:04 PM - PublicTour Scotland video shot today of part of the 10 Mile Pink Ribbonwalk raising funds for Breast Cancer Care from Scone Palace by Perth, Perthshire. In this video walkers are walking through Scone Woods to the village of New Scone. The 10 mile Pink Ribbon Walk route had the same beginning and end as the 20 mile route. The route passed beautiful open farmland tracks and picturesque rural cottages before rejoining the 20 mile walk at the old ferry station at Waulkmill. It was a beautiful sunny morning for the start of this Charity fundraising walk.

Yesterday 1:40 AM - PublicWhale Watching in Scotland
When you visit Scotland, you will of course be expecting some beautiful countryside, famous historical sites and maybe a bit of haggis. There is one thing that you may have not considered before now, but is something that you will absolutely have to do during your stay - and that is go on a whale watching trip. It is not the first thing that springs to mind when you think of Scotland, but you will be blown away by this experience.
A great way to ensure that your trip to Scotland is full of new experiences and sights is by taking a trip to do some whale watching - the beauty of it is that it is something that you will never have expected to be doing!
