Stunning Landscape Photos Dramatically Heightened with Digital Art

Across the vast expanse of the Pacific Northwest, there is a grand source of natural inspiration for photographer Miles Morgan. It's hard to believe but these stunning photographs are captured by Morgan, who only began his career in landscape photography a mere three years ago. Having grown up under the wing of his successful photojournalist father, Hank Morgan, it seems he has an innate gift for spotting beauty, brilliantly composing it within a frame, and telling a story through his visuals. Each image sets the scene for a different, breathtaking adventure.
Many of the shots appear too extraordinary to be purely found in nature. As magical as we here at My Modern Met know ournatural world to be, Morgan admits that he is as much a documentarian as an artist. More than simply taking snapshots, the photographer dabbles in post editing to heighten the effect of each image. Morgan says, "My philosophy of photography as art might be a little jarring to the purist, but I sometimes rely on blending exposures and other Photoshop trickery to maximize my chances of coming away from my shoots with a few 'keepers.' I enjoy spending time in the 'digital darkroom' almost as much as I do shooting, so many times my images would be considered more digital art, than traditional landscape photographs."
