Since early morning, Syrian activists have reported internet problems thus preventing them from accessing the social-networking site Facebook or uploading videos to Youtube.
Three prominent activists have confirmed that they could not access Facebook.
Some activists have also reported that the video-sharing website Youtube was inaccessible but this was denied by "Free Syrian", who says that the site is still available but it is working very slowly thus preventing them from posting videos.
Despite the reported "ban", activists have been able to use both websites resorting to software and proxies.
Many have blamed the regime saying that it is attempting to block social networking sites. Publish PostSince the Syrian regime has banned international journalists from entering the country and jailed local reporters to prevent them from covering the revolution, thus Youtube, Facebook and social networking sites in general have become essential tools for Syrian activists and citizen journalists to organize the revolution but also tell the world about what is going on in Syria.
