It may be too early to tell if adding Rep. Paul Ryan to his campaign ticket will help Mitt Romney gain voters in November, but it seems to have already excited some donors.
Since Romney announced Ryan as his running mate on Saturday, the campaign has taken in $7.4 million from more than 100,000 online donations, Romney spokeswoman Andrea Saul said in a Twitter post Tuesday.
That will certainly make an impact as the Republican candidate tries to outpace President Barack Obama's fundraising efforts for a fourth-straight month.
In tapping Ryan, Romney hopes to attract conservative voters, and members of the Tea Party.
And Ryan, who has spent 14 years in Congress, has also been a fundraising heavyweight on his own.
His congressional campaign has already reported $4.3 million in donations this election cycle, making it one of the top-raising campaigns this year.
